Strengths and Weaknesses Paper
My greatest strength as a teacher is my ability to express a caring attitude. I realize that some people may not believe that I am genuine, but I hope them as the school year proceeds that they will recognize that I want their child to be successful in my classroom. I attempt to get to know each student, which includes their name, something they like and one of their strengths. Each day I attempt to create a classroom that will spark interest and trust.
I perceive my talents and ability as a teacher to be a replica of my teachers in the past, my parents and other adults who have been patient and caring. By observing other teachers, it allowed me to developed skills that are needed to be successful academically, emotionally, and physically. I believe that my asset to the educational system is being a team player. I enjoy doing things together and creating positive outcomes that will be accomplishments for everyone involved.
My greatest weakness is becoming too emotionally involved in the lives of others. It seems innocent, but boundaries are important to any relationship. It seems that I want to help everyone and fix everything, but that is not realistic. I can improve this weakness by providing interventions that will enable the student and their family to meet their basic needs. Currently, I have a list of social service agencies and community resources that are available in the community where I hope to teach.
I am so happy that I was able to help a student to learn English. I am currently concentrated on encouraging younger students to perform at their highest ability. My goal is to provide enlightenment to those students who currently have challenges. The challenge for me will be using that I practice good time management guideline. I am apprehensive when talking with parents when their children are not being successful.
It seems that teaching positive interaction to the students is difficulty because everyone seems to have their own agenda and they do not relate to their class mates. I am also apprehensive because when I have a problem, I am at the mercy of others who may not understand the dilemma from my point of view. My belief is that teaching is a career that will continue to provide students and the community to come together. My goals are to provide a positive prospective on education and learning. The desire to be more efficient in my ability to create an environment that meets that needs of the students. I will meet a lot of new and interesting people, in which I hope to provide them, will the tools they need to be successful.
