During more difficult classes, small breaks maybe helpful to decrease stress. Brain research confirms that physical activity-moving, stretching, and walking-can actually enhance the learning process (Jensen2003). As students have a chance to move during class, oxygen moves to more places in the brain. Students’ brains encode the locations, like the classroom, as a way to memorize a subject. As a student, it seems that having the opportunity allows students to redirect their thoughts and focus.
Having music played during classes seems to create a more relaxed atmosphere. According to Malan Darras, music may improve attention span, enhance memory, and increase concentration. Different genres of music may affect stimulate the brain. Anita’s podcast described the importance of assisting younger students retaining knowledge by having stimulating activates. Research states students who lose that part of their knowledge cannot regain it.
