Public schools are allowed to be taught about religion but are not allowed to teach the criteria (ACLU2015). This is because many subjects have a basis with religious influences since the beginning of history. Students’ curriculum in different states have them learning about historical events from a religious group with a vendetta in other countries. Teachers may also teach about religious holidays and celebrate them. They however “observe the holidays as religious events” (ACLU2015).

Personally, I agree with my findings on constitutional guidelines. As a student that has attended both a private Christian academy and public schooling, I have seen this first hand. In the private school both bible studies and daily prayer went along with our school curriculum. I was graded on how well I participated in scripture memorization and regular subjects. Although when I transferred to regular public school system the change was drastic because I could limited expression of my religious beliefs in class.
